Oman reaffirms its support for Palestinians at UN

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The Sultanate of Oman affirmed its support for Palestinians in their struggle, and demanded a global order formed on the foundations and standards of equality and protection of the people.

This came in the Sultanate’s speech at the tenth emergency special session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, entitled: “Illegal Israeli actions in occupied East Jerusalem and the rest of the occupied Palestinian territories.”

First Secretary Engineer Ismail bin Marhoon Al Abri, member of the Permanent Delegation of the Sultanate of Oman to the United Nations in New York, said: “Holding this emergency special session is a living collective expression rejecting collective punishment and ethnic cleansing against an entire population, allowing the implementation of racist plans that we have rarely seen since World War II.”

He added: “The world and peace-loving people will not forget giving Israel the green light to continue its crimes against Palestinias. We affirm that the project of genocide and ethnic cleansing is rejected, and we hold Israel, as the occupying authority, and those who support it in carrying out this crime fully responsible, and this brutal aggression that causes removing legitimacy from the Security Council and its role in maintaining international peace and security.”

A member of the permanent delegation of the Sultanate of Oman to the United Nations in New York pointed out that some people are seeking to silence the voice of Palestine, indicating that in light of this, the whole world has turned to shouting the voice of palestine and has become certain that terrorism is what Israel is practicing in front of the ears and eyes of the world.
