Oman Welcomes ICJ Resolutions on Israeli Violations of Genocide Convention

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The Sultanate of Oman has extended a warm welcome to the resolutions of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague, issued today in response to the lawsuit filed by the Republic of South Africa against the Israeli occupying state. The lawsuit pertained to Israel’s clear, deliberate, and large-scale violation of its legal and humanitarian obligations under the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (CPPCG).
In an official statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Oman expressed its firm belief in the importance of adhering to these resolutions. The Sultanate emphasized the immediate necessity to cease all forms of Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip and other occupied Palestinian territories. Additionally, Oman underscored the urgency of lifting the siege imposed on Gaza, ensuring safe access for all humanitarian needs.
Oman called upon the international community to compel Israel, as the occupying state, to halt military operations and acts of genocide against the Palestinian people. The statement conveyed Oman’s deep appreciation to the Republic of South Africa for its honorable stance, emphasizing human rights, justice, and its courageous decision to file the lawsuit before the International Court of Justice.
The Sultanate of Oman reiterated its commitment to upholding principles of justice, human rights, and international law, urging collective efforts to bring an end to the suffering of the Palestinian people and pave the way for a just and lasting resolution in the region.
