Oracle Advisory Group to Observe Azerbaijani Elections, Including First Observation in Garabagh
Baku, The Gulf Observer: Oracle Advisory Group announced its intention to observe the upcoming extraordinary presidential election in Azerbaijan, including its first-ever observation in the region of Garabagh. The announcement was made by Vlada Galan during a press conference held in Shusha city.
The Oracle Advisory Group, a recognized international organization specializing in election observation, has extensive experience globally. This marks the group’s fifth observation of elections in Azerbaijan, demonstrating its commitment to ensuring transparent and fair democratic processes.
During the press conference, Vlada Galan shared insights into the group’s preparations, revealing that they have five experienced team members dedicated to overseeing the electoral proceedings in Azerbaijan. As part of their preliminary activities, a comprehensive survey has been conducted, gathering opinions and perspectives from 3,000 voters.
The extraordinary presidential election in Azerbaijan was called by President Ilham Aliyev through a decree issued on December 7, 2023. The election, scheduled for February 7, 2024, follows the constitutional process for the selection of the country’s leader.
On December 19, the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan officially approved the candidacy of President Ilham Aliyev, who was nominated by the ruling New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), as the candidate for the extraordinary presidential election.
Azerbaijan has registered seven candidates to participate in this significant electoral event, showcasing a diverse range of political voices.
