Pakistan is One of Our Closest Friends and Brothers: President Ilham Aliyev

Baku, The Gulf Observer: During a joint press conference with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan emphasized the strong and growing ties between the two nations.

“Pakistan, for us, is one of the closest friends and brothers. People-to-people contacts have also developed successfully,” President Aliyev stated, underscoring the importance of the relationship between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.

The press conference highlighted Azerbaijan’s satisfaction with the defense industry equipment acquired from Pakistan, with President Aliyev noting, “Azerbaijan has already acquired defense industry equipment from Pakistan, and we are very satisfied with the quality of this equipment.” He also shared that discussions had taken place on the potential for joint manufacturing of defense industry items, which would represent a significant new avenue for cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting between President Aliyev and Prime Minister Sharif marked another step in deepening the strategic and diplomatic ties between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, further strengthening their partnership in key sectors, particularly defense.
