Pakistan Reaffirms Commitment to Mediation as PM Meets Turkish and Egyptian Foreign Ministers

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to playing a constructive and positive role in facilitating dialogue between Iran and the United States, with the aim of ending ongoing hostilities in the region.
The Prime Minister expressed these views during a meeting with Foreign Minister of Türkiye, Hakan Fidan, and Foreign Minister of Egypt, Badr Abdelatty.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, National Security Adviser Lt. Gen. Muhammad Asim Malik, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi, and Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch.
During the warm and cordial discussions, the Prime Minister conveyed his best wishes and greetings for President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan and President of Egypt Abdel Fattah El Sisi, recalling his recent interactions with both leaders.
Highlighting Pakistan’s proactive diplomatic outreach, the Prime Minister underscored the urgent need for collective international efforts to de-escalate tensions and bring an immediate end to hostilities, which have resulted in significant loss of lives, economic disruption, and widespread damage across Iran and several other brotherly Muslim countries.
The visiting Foreign Ministers briefed the Prime Minister on their respective national perspectives regarding the evolving situation in the Middle East. They appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in ongoing peace efforts and commended the leadership of the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir during this critical period.
Both sides reaffirmed the importance of sustained dialogue, diplomacy, and coordinated efforts to restore peace and stability in the region.
