Pakistan Senators meets Uzbekistan Chief Election Commissioner
Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: On October 26, 2024, a delegation of Senators from the Senate of Pakistan, including Senator Sarmad Ali and Senator Amir Chishti, led by Senator Irfan Siddiqui, Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs met with Mr Zayniddin Nizamkhdjaev, Chief of Central Election Commission of Republic of Uzbekistan. The Senators from Pakistan are currently visiting Uzbekistan on the invitation of the Election Commission of Uzbekistan as International Election Observers at the Parliament Elections.
Mr. Nizamkhodjaev warmly welcomed the Pakistani senators and expressed his appreciation for their presence as observers during the electoral process. He emphasized the strong bilateral relations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan, highlighting the importance of collaboration in various sectors.
Senator Irfan Siddiqui praised the Uzbek electoral setup, noting its smoothness and transparency. The Pakistani senators visited multiple polling stations, where they observed an efficient and well-organized election process. The Pakistani senators also commended Uzbekistan’s hospitality, remarking that “Uzbekistan is our second home.”
Mr. Nizamkhodjaev also conveyed warm sentiments towards the visiting senators, expressing hope for continued cooperation. He acknowledged the valuable ties that extend beyond parliamentary relations, particularly in terms of people-to-people connectivity.
