Palestinian President Abbas Urges Israel’s Withdrawal from Gaza in Talks with Bulgarian President
Ramallah, The Gulf Observer: In a recent dialogue between Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Bulgarian President Rumen Radev, facilitated through the Palestinian news agency, WAFA, President Abbas reiterated the imperative for Israel to swiftly and completely withdraw from the besieged Gaza Strip, alongside cessation of all unilateral actions in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.
The exchange, primarily centered on the Palestinian predicament, saw President Abbas underscore the urgency of restoring Gaza’s sovereignty while emphasizing the parallel necessity for the Palestinian state to shoulder its responsibilities within Gaza akin to those in the occupied West Bank. He further stressed the need for establishing a robust mechanism facilitating the unhindered entry of humanitarian and medical aid into Gaza.
Moreover, President Abbas reiterated the imperative of preventing the expulsion of Palestinians from their homes and underscored the paramount importance of securing full membership status for the Palestinian state at the United Nations.
President Radev, expressing solidarity with the Palestinian cause, conveyed his fervent hope for an end to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, condemning what he termed as “Israeli genocide”. President Radev voiced his unwavering support for the Palestinian people’s aspirations for independence and the attainment of their national rights.
