Philippine Ambassador Attends COMSTECH Farewell Reception for Malaysian Diplomat

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Philippine Ambassador to Pakistan H.E. Dr. Emmanuel R. Fernandez attended a high-tea reception hosted by Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary, Coordinator General of OIC-COMSTECH, in honor of Mr. Mohd Syafik Firdaus bin Hasbullah, Deputy Head of Mission of the High Commission of Malaysia in Islamabad.
The reception was held to bid farewell to the Malaysian diplomat, who is concluding his tour of duty in Pakistan before taking up his next diplomatic assignment in Istanbul, Türkiye.
The gathering was attended by H.E. Dato’ Mohammad Azhar Mazlan, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan, and his spouse; H.E. Colonel (Rtd.) Pengiran Haji Kamal Bashah bin Pengiran Haji Ahmad, Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to Pakistan; representatives of ASEAN diplomatic missions in Islamabad; and senior officials of COMSTECH.
In his capacity as the current Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Islamabad (ACI), Ambassador Fernandez delivered a tribute to Mr. Mohd Syafik Firdaus bin Hasbullah, conveying the Committee’s appreciation for his dedicated diplomatic service and valuable contributions to strengthening ASEAN-Pakistan relations.
Ambassador Fernandez also acknowledged the Malaysian diplomat’s steadfast support for ASEAN cooperation in Pakistan and his efforts to promote closer engagement among ASEAN member states.
While extending his best wishes for the diplomat’s upcoming assignment in Istanbul, Ambassador Fernandez expressed confidence that Mr. Mohd Syafik Firdaus bin Hasbullah would continue to contribute to strengthening relations between ASEAN and Türkiye in his new capacity.
The farewell reception underscored the spirit of friendship and cooperation among ASEAN diplomatic missions in Islamabad and highlighted the importance of continued coordination in advancing ASEAN’s engagement with Pakistan and other regional partners.
