Hanoi, The Gulf Observer: Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính on Saturday met with distinguished education administrators, lecturers and teachers from across the country in celebration of the 43rd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20, 1982 – 2025).

Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister extended heartfelt gratitude to generations of Vietnamese teachers who have devoted themselves to the noble mission of educating the nation’s youth. He underscored Việt Nam’s long-standing tradition of valuing education and honouring educators, reaffirming that the Party and State consistently regard education and training as a top national priority.

PM Chính highlighted that high-quality human resources are the decisive factor for national success and sustainable development. He noted that to realise Việt Nam’s long-term development goals, the Politburo, National Assembly and Government have introduced a range of strategic policies aimed at strengthening human capital and modernising the education sector.

Referring to the targets set under Resolution 71—achieving regional-level educational standards by 2030 and global standards by 2045—the Prime Minister urged ministries, sectors and local authorities to place education at the forefront of national priorities. He called for greater efforts to achieve genuine breakthroughs in educational quality at all levels.

He outlined a guiding approach built on five key pillars: students at the centre; teachers as motivators and sources of inspiration; schools as enablers; families as foundations; and society as a supportive ecosystem. He stressed the need for continued institutional and policy reform, timely issuance of guidance for the amended laws on general, higher and vocational education, effective implementation of the Law on Teachers, and comprehensive evaluation and improvement of the general education curriculum and textbooks.

PM Chính also emphasised strengthening higher education quality, promoting deeper and more substantive training, encouraging greater investment in education, ensuring fairness between public and private institutions, and expanding public-private partnerships.

Speaking at the event, Minister of Education and Training Nguyễn Kim Sơn noted that the teachers in attendance represented all levels of education and regions of the country. Each one, he said, carried inspiring stories of dedication, resilience and innovation—whether leading classrooms, driving digital transformation, or quietly supporting disadvantaged students.

He added that the exemplary professionalism and integrity of these educators underpin major emulation movements nationwide that promote innovation and reinforce public trust in the education sector.

Teacher representatives expressed deep appreciation to the Party and State leadership, particularly the Prime Minister, for their consistent support and willingness to listen to the concerns and recommendations of educators. They stated that this attention reflects the country’s profound respect for teachers and motivates the sector to fulfil its mission.

Delegates also called for increased support for training qualified preschool teachers, especially in remote and disadvantaged areas; better policies for kindergarten nutrition staff; enhanced investment in science and technology for schools; special mechanisms for priority training fields; and a more equitable policy environment for both public and private educational institutions.
