PM Shehbaz Sharif Extends New Year 2026 Greetings, Highlights National Resilience and Economic Reforms

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, in his New Year message for 2026, extended heartfelt greetings to all Pakistanis, praising the nation’s resilience, paying tribute to martyrs, and pledging to accelerate economic reforms while upholding Pakistan’s commitment to regional and global peace.
Reflecting on 2025, the prime minister described the year as one “recorded in history in golden letters for the defence of the motherland.” He lauded the armed forces and the nation for standing united in thwarting enemy designs, particularly highlighting the country’s air defence as a model of operational success and a textbook example for military engagement worldwide. He reaffirmed the nation’s unwavering resolve to remain an iron wall in safeguarding Pakistan’s security.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid solemn tribute to martyrs who sacrificed their lives in terrorist attacks over the past year, acknowledging their contributions to national security and stability.
On the economic front, he expressed optimism, noting that recent improvements in key indicators reflect the government’s positive direction. The prime minister pledged to continue the “revolutionary economic reforms and initiatives” launched in 2025 with renewed determination, faster implementation, and improved measures to ensure tangible prosperity for the people.
He reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to regional and global peace, while expressing solidarity with the oppressed peoples of Kashmir and Palestine. The prime minister prayed for protection from terrorism, sectarianism, and division, and hoped that 2026 would be marked by socio-political harmony, prosperity, and stability for the nation.
