Poland Completes Ratification of EU–Việtnam Investment Protection Agreement

Poland

Prague, The Gulf Observer: Polish President Karol Nawrocki on Thursday signed an act ratifying the EU–Việtnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA), marking the final step for Poland to officially become the twentieth out of twenty-seven European Union member states to endorse the pact.

The ratification follows unanimous approval of the bill by both chambers of Poland’s parliament — the Sejm on October 17 and the Senate on November 6 — reflecting strong cross-party support for strengthening cooperation with Việtnam, regarded as one of the EU’s most significant partners in Southeast Asia.

The move also demonstrates Poland’s commitment to implementing high-level agreements reached during Vietnamese Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính’s official visit to Warsaw in January, during which Polish leaders pledged to complete EVIPA ratification procedures within 2025.

The completion of the ratification process carries substantial significance amid the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Việtnam and Poland (1950–2025). It is expected to further solidify the traditional friendship between the two countries and create new momentum for enhanced cooperation across multiple sectors, particularly economy, trade, and investment.
