Prabowo Calls for National Self-Reliance at Bank Indonesia Annual Meeting
Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: President Prabowo Subianto on Friday underscored the importance of national self-reliance, asserting that Indonesia must not depend on any foreign country to protect its security and secure its future.
Speaking at the 2025 Bank Indonesia Annual Meeting in Jakarta, the President stressed that the nation must rely on its own capabilities, particularly in the face of rising global geopolitical and geoeconomic uncertainties.
“We do not want to depend on any country in the world, and we must not. For the safety and future of our nation, we must believe in our own strength,” President Prabowo stated.
He emphasized that the government must act with integrity, uphold truth and justice, and implement policies that are transparent, rational, and centered on the interests of the people. According to him, sound governance requires composure, confidence, and a firm commitment to independence.
“A government that has the right intentions and upholds the truth and justice, carrying out transparent governance with policies guided by common sense, pro-people, implemented with calm, confidence, and determination to stand on our own feet,” he reiterated.
President Prabowo expressed optimism that with strong commitment and determination, Indonesia can effectively manage its economy without relying on other nations. He further emphasized that the crucial stage ahead is swift and efficient policy implementation.
“I remind you that now is the time for implementation. Now is the moment for execution — how to solve problems, how to bring solutions as fast as possible to the people,” he said.
