Prabowo Subianto Expresses Optimism Amid Quick Count Results

Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: Presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto has expressed optimism about his and running mate Gibran Rakabuming Raka’s potential victory in the 2024 Indonesian Presidential Election following quick count results from survey agencies indicating a lead for their pair.

Addressing supporters at the Istora Senayan arena on Wednesday evening (Feb 14), Prabowo conveyed his gratitude for the quick count results, which consistently showed him and Gibran in a favorable position.

“All quick count results by survey agencies, including agencies affiliated with other candidates, indicated that the Prabowo-Gibran pair will win in a single round,” Prabowo emphasized.

Despite the positive indications, Prabowo urged his supporters to remain level-headed and avoid arrogance. He emphasized the importance of humility even in the face of promising quick count results.

“Me and Gibran hope that while we are grateful (for the results), we should not be arrogant and overly euphoric. We should remain humble,” he stated.

Prabowo also appealed to his supporters to exercise patience and await the official results from the General Elections Commission (KPU). The KPU is set to tabulate the election results in stages until next month, following the participation of over 204 million Indonesian voters on February 14.

“Brothers and sisters, we still should wait for KPU’s official results. We believe that Indonesia’s democracy works well,” Subianto assured.

In the 2024 Election, three candidate pairs are vying for national leadership: Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar as candidate number one; Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka as candidate number two; and Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud MD as candidate number three.

In accordance with KPU Regulation No. 3 of 2022, the nationwide vote recapitulation for the 2024 Election is scheduled to take place from February 15 to March 20, 2024. As the official results are awaited, Prabowo Subianto remains cautiously optimistic, believing in the strength of Indonesia’s democratic process.
