Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: On 30th November 2025, Mr. Wajahat Ali, Member Board of Experts, Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future (PRCCSF) and Member of Centre for Alternative Perspectives (CAP), participated as a distinguished speaker in the webinar titled “From Dependency to Leverage: How the Global South Uses China–US Rivalry to Reassert Power.” The event was organized by Strategic Youth Paradigm (SYP) as part of its initiative to promote informed dialogue on global political trends and their impact on developing nations.

During the session, Mr. Wajahat Ali enriched the discussion with his analytical perspectives on peaceful cooperation, strategic autonomy, and the evolving geopolitical dynamics shaping the Global South. He highlighted how states can navigate great-power rivalry through diplomacy, regional partnerships, and diversified economic policies, offering students a comprehensive understanding of contemporary international relations.

Other prominent speaker included Dr. Sidra Ahmed, Assistant Professor of International Relations at the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Bahria University Karachi Campus (BUKC), and Founding Member & President of the Centre for Alternative Perspectives (CAP). She shared insightful views on shifting power structures, development challenges, and the role of youth in fostering constructive global engagement.

With 80+ students from across Pakistan, the webinar transformed into a vibrant and interactive exchange of ideas. Participants posed thoughtful, intelligent, and thought-provoking questions, reflecting a strong interest in global political developments and their implications for Pakistan and the wider region.

In his concluding remarks, the Founder of Strategic Youth Paradigm appreciated the valuable contributions of the speakers and participants. He reiterated SYP’s commitment to nurturing youth leadership, promoting critical thinking, and expanding global awareness through research-based, knowledge-driven programs.
