Preliminary Investigation Suggests External Interference in AZAL Embraer 190 Crash near Aktau
Baku, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) has reported that preliminary findings into the crash of the Embraer 190 aircraft operating the Baku-Grozny flight indicate that the incident resulted from physical and technical external interference, News Hub Consultants reported to “The Gulf Observer”.
The tragic crash occurred on December 25, three kilometers from Aktau airport. The Embraer 190 was carrying 67 individuals, including 62 passengers and 5 crew members, on its scheduled route from Baku to Grozny.
Of the passengers and crew, 27 individuals were hospitalized following the accident. Among them are 15 Azerbaijani citizens, 8 Russians, and 3 Kyrgyz nationals, while the identity of one individual remains unidentified.
Medical officials report that 11 of the victims are being treated in intensive care, 13 in traumatology, 2 in neurosurgery, and 1 in surgery. The injured are under the care of professional doctors from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Russia, receiving prompt and specialized medical and psychological treatment.
Regrettably, the crash claimed the lives of the flight’s pilots and a flight stewardess, while two other crew members survived.
Authorities are diligently working to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the crash and will provide additional information as the investigation progresses.
