President Berdimuhamedov holds telephone conversation with President of Iran

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov had a telephone conversation with President of Iran Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi on Friday, the official Turkmen media reported.

After greeting each other, the heads of states expressed gratitude for the opportunity to discuss priority areas of cooperation. Turkmen President sent warm greetings to President Raisi from the Halk Maslahaty Chairman.

Presidents Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi exchanged congratulations on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan and wished peace, prosperity and well-being to the peoples of both countries.

The sides discussed current politics, especially the consolidation of efforts to ensure peace and sustainable development, and emphasized that their positions on topical issues of modernity coincide.

During the call, President Berdimuhamedov and Iranian President also discussed ways to strengthen interstate cooperation in political and diplomatic, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, taking into account existing prospects and realities. In this context, the parties emphasized the significant potential for expanding interaction in fuel and energy, transportation and communications, and agriculture complexes.

At the end of the phone call, Presidents Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi expressed confidence in the continued successful development of Turkmen-Iranian cooperation that serves common interests and wished the peoples of the two countries peace, prosperity, and well-being.

The trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Iran (excluding crude oil exports) increased by 32.18 percent in the first eleven months of the current Iranian calendar (March 21, 2022 to February 19, 2023) compared to the same period last year.
