President Emomali Rahmon Inaugurates Major Social, Industrial and Tourism Projects in Hissor
Hissor, The Gulf Observer: President of the Republic of Tajikistan and Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon on August 11 remotely inaugurated a wide range of social, educational, industrial, tourism and service facilities during his working visit to the city of Hissor.
The newly commissioned projects form part of Tajikistan’s ongoing development initiatives and preparations for the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, creating improved conditions for education, employment, production and public services.
Among the facilities inaugurated were eight secondary educational institutions with a combined capacity of 5,136 students in two shifts. The schools are equipped with modern classrooms, subject rooms, libraries, laboratories and other necessary infrastructure.
Educational institutions opened during the visit included Secondary Educational Institutions No. 144 in Ganjobod village, No. 145 in Tuda village, No. 78 in Rujon village and No. 124 in Navruz village. Additional educational buildings were also commissioned at Secondary Educational Institutions No. 57, No. 69 and No. 43, providing hundreds of additional places for students and dedicated facilities for subjects including biology, mathematics, information technology and English.
The President also inaugurated four preschool educational institutions with a total capacity of 640 children. Among them was the Nuri Istiqlol preschool in the Rudaki neighborhood of Hissor, which provides education and upbringing in Tajik, Russian and English. The Khadija Private Preschool in Obigarm village was also opened, featuring modern classrooms, bedrooms, a canteen and other facilities.
In the tourism and hospitality sector, the Sharshara Hotel and Wellness Center was commissioned in Hissor. Built on an area of 5,500 square meters, the complex combines recreational, health and sports facilities.
The visit also saw the opening of the new building of the Almosi village police station, aimed at strengthening local law-enforcement infrastructure and improving public services.
Another important facility inaugurated was the Hokim Palace in Hissor village, constructed as part of the reconstruction project of the Hissor Fortress Historical and Cultural Reserve. The building incorporates elements of traditional historical architecture while providing modern facilities for use as an important cultural and historical site highlighting the ancient Tajik civilization.
Several industrial enterprises were also commissioned during the President’s visit. The Iron and Plastic Processing Plant of Hoji Sharif LLC in Dehi Nav village has a production capacity of 1,200 tons of products per month, contributing to domestic demand and reducing reliance on imports.
In Sitora village, the poultry breeding enterprise of ARK AGRO LLC was put into operation. The facility comprises nine production workshops and auxiliary buildings covering more than 15,000 square meters.
A dry construction materials plant of Barkh LLC was also commissioned in Hissor. Built on an area of 3,897 square meters, the enterprise produces adhesives for tiles, marble, ceramic granite and other construction materials, with capacity to manufacture up to 60 types of products.
Meanwhile, the production enterprise of Bosfor Tijorat LLC was inaugurated in Boghiston village. The facility has three production lines and can manufacture 14 types of products, including sunflower seeds, dried potatoes and corn. The enterprise has also created 30 permanent jobs, while more than 50 local residents were employed during its construction.
Overall, during President Rahmon’s working visit to Hissor, eight secondary schools, four preschool institutions, eight industrial enterprises, four tourism facilities and three service facilities were built and commissioned, creating nearly 700 permanent jobs.
As part of preparations for Tajikistan’s 35th anniversary of State Independence, 58 kilometres of roads have also been paved in Hissor.
According to the Action Plan for 2022–2026, a total of 1,809 facilities were scheduled to be constructed in Hissor. To date, 1,848 facilities have been built and commissioned, representing 102.2 percent of the planned target.
The newly commissioned facilities have collectively contributed to the creation of 1,034 jobs, further supporting socio-economic development and improving living and working conditions for residents of Hissor.
