President Ilham Aliyev arrives in Tashkent

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev arrived in Uzbekistan on Wednesday to attend the 16th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) in Tashkent.

The Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov, and other officials met the distinguished guest at Tashkent International Airport. According to the agenda, as part of the Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization, issues of further enhancing trade, economic, investment, transport, communications, and humanitarian cooperation and improving the activities of this multilateral structure will be considered.

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev paid a state visit to this country on August 22 at the invitation of the Leader of Azerbaijan. Friendly relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan are rooted in history. In recent years, relations between the two countries have been developing rapidly. In particular, after 2017, the dialogue at the highest level intensified. Visits by delegations from both sides have become more frequent. As a result, the initiatives put forward by the two countries’ leaders are becoming increasingly important.
