President Ilham Aliyev Highlights Need to Adapt Constitution to Modern Challenges

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan’s rapid socio-economic progress and its emergence as a leading state in the region have made it essential to adapt the country’s Constitution to the evolving demands of the modern era, President Ilham Aliyev said in his address to participants of the international conference titled “Constitution and the Rule of Law in Modern Legal Systems.”

In his message, the head of state emphasized that the dynamic socio-political developments within Azerbaijani society underscore the need for constitutional evolution to reflect the country’s achievements and future aspirations.

President Aliyev noted that the amendments and additions introduced to the Constitution over the years have addressed numerous significant issues, focusing on strengthening the protection of human rights and freedoms, consolidating the foundations of civil society, and enhancing the efficiency of public administration.

The President’s remarks reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s commitment to continuous legal and institutional reform in line with the principles of democracy, the rule of law, and good governance.
