President Mirziyoyev Leads Nationwide Commemoration of Islam Karimov’s Legacy

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: On September 2, representatives of government organizations and the public of Tashkent gathered to pay tribute to Islam Karimov, the First President of Uzbekistan, in a solemn ceremony. The event was marked by the presence of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who laid a wreath at the monument of Islam Karimov, honoring the leader who proclaimed the independence of Uzbekistan and guided the nation on its path to progress.

During the Independence Day celebrations, President Mirziyoyev highlighted the profound impact of Islam Karimov’s leadership on the nation’s history. “Thanks to independence, our national statehood was reborn. Uzbekistan entered a new historical era. It is precisely because of independence that we have taken a worthy place in the world community,” he remarked, emphasizing the significance of the country’s independence and the enduring legacy of its first president.

As Uzbekistan commemorates its independence, the nation reflects on the sacrifices made by patriots who fought for freedom and contributed to the formation of the modern Uzbek state. The ceremony underscored the pivotal role of Islam Karimov in steering the country through challenging times, solidifying peace and stability, and enhancing the well-being of the people.

At the Islam Karimov Scientific and Educational Memorial Complex, verses from the Quran were recited, and the First President’s achievements were highlighted. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Oliy Majlis, the Presidential Administration, the Cabinet of Ministers, various ministries and departments, and members of the public, who also laid flowers at the monument.

Commemorative events were also held in Samarkand and Karshi, where the legacy of Islam Karimov continues to be honored and remembered.
