Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: In a session held today in Tashkent, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received detailed briefings on key projects aimed at advancing the industrial, service, and infrastructure sectors in Uzbekistan. The comprehensive discussions, reported by Uzbek media, highlighted the government’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship, optimizing water and natural resource utilization, and implementing initiatives outlined in the “Uzbekistan-2030” strategy, particularly within the context of the “Year of Supporting Youth and Business.”

The President’s press service outlined several focal points, including goals related to realizing the tourism potential of different regions, enhancing housing conditions, and developing city infrastructure. The meeting also addressed specific initiatives for the capital, Tashkent.

During the session, the establishment of the “Tashkent Investment Company” as a joint-stock company was announced. This entity aims to streamline the execution of investment projects and public-private partnerships, including renovation projects, utilizing vacant land plots. The meeting approved simplified procedures for public-private partnership projects, renovation initiatives, and cooperation based on the innovative concept of a “lifetime contract.”

Additionally, insights were shared on the “Yangi Avlod” Special Industrial Zone, slated for the Yangihayot district. Covering an expansive 664.5-hectare area, the zone aims to attract $1.5 billion in foreign direct investments, generate 2.5 thousand new jobs, and produce over 5 million industrial products annually, with an export target of $5 million.

The President also considered proposals for enhancing tourism services and infrastructure in various districts of Tashkent. The proposed program encompasses the creation of “gastronomic tourism” and “artisans” streets, the construction of modern trade and service facilities, hotels, and the establishment of green spaces along canals.

Acknowledging the need for localized efforts at the neighborhood level, the President emphasized identifying growth points, specializing in specific activities, and drawing inspiration from successful experiences, such as the “Andijan model” for greening areas.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev endorsed the presented document projects and proposals, assigning specific tasks to officials for the efficient and quality implementation of these strategic initiatives. The initiatives outlined demonstrate Uzbekistan’s commitment to sustainable development, economic growth, and the overall well-being of its citizens.
