UAE, Pakistan Sign MoU to Boost Agricultural Innovation in Date Palm Cultivation

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Abu Dhabi. The primary objective of the MoU is to enhance research and development efforts related to Date Palm cultivation and its associated industry.
The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence. Representing their respective nations, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, the Ambassador of Pakistan to the UAE, and Dr. Abdelouahhab Zaid, the Secretary-General of the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation, officially inked the agreement.
The MoU aims to facilitate joint cooperation and knowledge-sharing between the UAE and Pakistan, providing a platform for the exchange of expertise in the realm of Date Palm cultivation. This collaboration is expected to open new avenues for Pakistani farmers, enabling them to expand date palm cultivation through the implementation of innovative ideas.
Recognizing the UAE’s leadership in agricultural advancements, the MoU signifies a commitment to providing technological support to Pakistan. Leveraging the UAE’s expertise, Pakistan aims to harness its rich topography and unlock the immense potential in the date palm cultivation sector. As a tangible outcome of this partnership, the First Pakistan International Date Palm Festival 2024 is set to be organized.
The strong and fraternal relationship between Pakistan and the UAE extends across various domains, including political, economic, agricultural, cultural, and energy cooperation. This MoU reinforces their commitment to collaborative projects that mutually benefit both nations.
