President Mirziyoyev Reviews Urban Development Progress in Kukdala District

Kashkadarya, The Gulf Observer: President Shavkat Mirziyoyev conducted an inspection visit to the administrative center of Kukdala district in Kashkadarya region to assess the progress of large-scale urban development projects. The district, established three years ago at the President’s initiative, has since experienced rapid transformation, with a new city emerging near the village of Yettitom.
The comprehensive urbanization efforts aim to create favorable living conditions for the local population. Key infrastructure has already been established, including 120 kilometers of water pipelines and 210 kilometers of power lines. Extensive road reconstruction and expansion works have been completed. In addition, a wide range of public service buildings have been constructed, including 19 schools, 22 kindergartens, a multidisciplinary hospital, and a family health clinic.
A notable milestone is the new hokimiyat (district administration) building, which consolidates 38 government departments under one roof. This pioneering initiative enhances public service accessibility and convenience, eliminating the need for residents to travel to Chirakchi district for administrative matters. The President noted that the integrated approach adopted in Kukdala sets a model for regional development across the country.
The hokimiyat building also houses the “Inson” Center, which provides comprehensive social services. Its digital infrastructure is connected to databases of 55 government institutions, enabling integrated service provision for children, people with disabilities, senior citizens, and recipients of social benefits.
President Mirziyoyev also visited the Yettitom Small Industrial Zone, which spans four hectares and hosts nine enterprises in the textile, food, and construction sectors. With a total investment of $10 million, the zone is set to generate over 600 permanent jobs. Among the resident enterprises are Komfort Star New, which produces heating systems and metal products, and Komfort Industrial Aria, specializing in ceramic tableware.
During the visit, the President toured the newly built Palace of Arts. The cultural complex features a 255-seat auditorium, creative studios, a sound recording room, and modern infrastructure including advanced sound and climate control systems. Strategically located alongside an art school, a general education facility, and a sports complex, the Palace exemplifies integrated planning for community development. President Mirziyoyev emphasized that future infrastructure projects should follow this holistic model.
The President watched performances by young artists and expressed admiration for their talent. In an address to the youth, he remarked: “Looking at you, I am once again convinced that the land of Amir Temur is rich in talent. If you do not lose your thirst for knowledge and remain persistent, you will become the foundation of Uzbekistan’s greatness.”
Development in Kukdala also includes the construction of children’s playgrounds, green areas, commercial zones, and service centers as part of a unified urban plan. Over 200 facilities have been completed, and social infrastructure, including libraries, cultural centers, and sports facilities, continues to expand. The local population has welcomed the improvements with high appreciation.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev concluded his visit to Kashkadarya region, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to balanced regional development and improved quality of life for all citizens.
