President Mirziyoyev to Participate in First Peace Council Meeting in the United States

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, will pay a working visit to Washington from February 17 to 19 at the invitation of Donald Trump, President of the United States, to participate in the inaugural meeting of the Peace Council.

The first summit of the Council will be held at the United States Institute of Peace and will focus on the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, the provision of humanitarian assistance, and efforts to ensure peace and stability in the region.

Within the framework of the visit’s business program, President Mirziyoyev is also scheduled to attend a presentation of strategic projects involving leaders of major American companies and financial institutions. The agenda includes the signing ceremony of bilateral documents related to economic cooperation.

The Peace Council was established at the initiative of President Donald Trump. Uzbekistan joined the Council as a founding member in January this year during the World Economic Forum in Davos.

The upcoming visit underscores Uzbekistan’s active engagement in international peacebuilding initiatives and its commitment to strengthening economic and strategic partnerships with the United States.
