President of Turkmenistan meets new Russian, British ambassadors
Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Wednesday in Ashgabat held separate meetings with the newly appointed Ambassadors of Russia and the United Kingdom to Turkmenistan, the official Turkmen media reports.
Talks with the new Russian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ivan Volynkin
During the meeting, the new Russian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ivan Volynkin presented his credentials to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The Turkmen President congratulated the Russian envoy on his appointment to the high diplomatic post and wished him success in his responsible role aimed at further strengthening the effective interstate relations.
In the course of the meeting, the sides noted that the Turkmen-Russian political dialogue is developing dynamically, there are reciprocal visits at the highest level, there are regular contacts between ministries and departments. The talks outlined trade-economic ties among the priority areas of Turkmen-Russian cooperation.
Meeting with the new Ambassador of the UK to Turkmenistan Stephen Conlon
During the meeting, the UK Ambassador Stephen Conlon presented his credentials to the Turkmen President.
Stephen Conlon said the UK attaches great importance to further strengthening the traditionally friendly relations and effective cooperation with Turkmenistan, which is steadily moving along the path of sovereign development.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said there are all opportunities for further development of trade and economic relations between Turkmenistan and the UK, and stressed the relevance of negotiations on integration of the best achievements of British companies. In turn, the diplomat expressed the UK businesses’ interest in expanding its presence in the promising Turkmen market.
At the invitation of the British side, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov visited London in early May to attend the coronation ceremony of King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Charles III and his wife, the Queen Consort.
