President Pezeshkian Reaffirms Iran’s Commitment to Peaceful Nuclear Development

President Pezeshkian

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: President Masoud Pezeshkian has reiterated Iran’s unwavering commitment to the peaceful use of nuclear energy, emphasizing that the nation’s efforts to advance its nuclear industry are aimed at meeting public needs and enhancing national welfare, rather than developing weapons.

During his visit to the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) on Sunday, President Pezeshkian expressed regret over what he described as widespread propaganda that distorts the nature of Iran’s nuclear activities. He said such campaigns seek to falsely associate nuclear technology solely with atomic bomb production, creating a misleading perception among the public.

Highlighting the broad scientific and industrial scope of nuclear technology, Pezeshkian noted that the development of weapons represents only a “tiny, disproportionate, and inhumane” aspect of the field. In contrast, he said, most nuclear advancements serve essential human and developmental needs.

The president further warned that certain powerful nations aim to prevent independent countries from acquiring advanced technologies, striving instead to limit them to low-value assembly industries. He also condemned the assassination of Iranian scientists, describing these acts as evidence of hostile attempts to hinder Iran’s scientific and technological independence.
