The President’s media team issued a press statement on Tuesday detailing the highlights of these interactions.

Intimate Conversations with Global Leaders

President Prabowo held meaningful conversations with Singapore’s Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, Vietnam’s Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and Malaysia’s Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. The exchanges underscored Indonesia’s commitment to fostering robust regional partnerships.

A warm moment was captured when President Prabowo embraced the Emir of Qatar, symbolizing the enduring friendship between the two nations. In another instance, the President shared a lighthearted exchange with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, with the two leaders sharing laughter during their dialogue.

The summit also saw President Prabowo seated beside Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The two leaders shared a symbolic gesture of camaraderie as Erdogan held Prabowo’s hand during their discussion.

Indonesia’s Commitment to Global Challenges

During his address at the G20 Summit, President Prabowo reiterated Indonesia’s dedication to eradicating poverty and hunger, declaring these issues as national priorities. Highlighting his government’s focus on education, he stated, “Only with peace and stability can we overcome poverty and hunger. We also urge the G20 countries to leverage our collective strength to strengthen multilateral efforts on these issues.”

Five-Nation Diplomatic Tour

President Prabowo’s participation in the G20 Summit is part of a broader five-nation diplomatic tour encompassing China, the United States, Peru, Brazil, and the United Kingdom. The tour reflects Indonesia’s proactive approach to strengthening international cooperation and maintaining strong bilateral relations.

Earlier in his tour, President Prabowo held bilateral talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping and U.S. President Joe Biden and participated in the APEC Summit in Lima, Peru.

The G20 Summit served as a platform for President Prabowo to emphasize Indonesia’s role in global discussions on pressing issues while reinforcing its diplomatic ties with partner nations.
