President Sadyr Zhaparov Arrives in Astana for CSTO Collective Security Council Summit

Astana, The Gulf Observer: The President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Zhaparov, arrived in Astana last night to participate in the session of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Collective Security Council. The Kazakh Government’s press service confirmed his arrival.

The summit has also drawn the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, who landed in the Kazakh capital earlier to attend the high-level meeting.

During the session, the leaders of the CSTO member states will exchange views on pressing international and regional issues, particularly their impact on the security and stability of the bloc. They will also review the outcomes of their cooperation and discuss strategies for enhancing the CSTO’s collective security framework.

The summit is expected to conclude with the signing of a comprehensive package of documents aimed at further strengthening the organization’s security mechanisms.

Additionally, a joint meeting of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers, the Council of Defence Ministers, and the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils will be held today in Astana. These meetings are anticipated to pave the way for greater coordination among the member states in addressing emerging challenges and threats.

The CSTO comprises Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan, with its primary focus on regional security and defense cooperation.
