President Shavkat Mirziyoyev Inspects Yangihayot Industrial Technopark in Tashkent
Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Yangihayot Industrial Technopark in Tashkent, a vital hub designed to stimulate local employment and economic growth. Yangihayot district, home to over 184,000 residents, has recently seen significant residential and industrial development to address the needs of its growing population.
Established following a presidential resolution on February 4, 2021, the technopark spans 110 hectares. Since its inception, it has attracted $101 million in investments, leading to the commissioning of eight enterprises and the creation of 520 jobs.
Key Enterprises in Focus
The President inspected several enterprises, including:
- Almerro Group LLC: A confectionery manufacturer operating under the Krember brand, with $22 million in investments. Utilizing advanced equipment from Italy, Spain, and Turkey, the company produces 80 types of confectionery products annually, valued at 320 billion UZS. Export markets include China and CIS countries, accounting for 15-20% of its output.
- Vera Modern Electrical: This enterprise specializes in producing 600 types of cables and wires. With $21 million in investments, the company exports $4 million worth of products annually while supplying 35-40% of its production to the domestic market. Localization levels for its operations reach 70%.
Supporting Small Businesses
President Mirziyoyev reviewed a two-story production complex constructed by Mimar Group. This facility, designed to support small businesses and artisans, is sold on installment plans. The complex offers integrated production and exhibition spaces.
Currently, four enterprises are operational within the facility, with a combined investment of $3 million. Products include doors, windows, textiles, construction profiles, and solar panels.
Expansion Plans
The President was briefed on ambitious plans to further develop the technopark:
- 2025 Targets: Launch of 37 projects worth $235 million.
- 2026 Goal: Completion of a $50 million project.
- Job Creation: 10,000 new positions to be established.
- Export Growth: $35 million in export potential to be realized.
By 2025, 46 projects valued at $386 million will focus on building materials, electrical engineering, logistics, and textiles. Dual training programs are also set to prepare skilled personnel for these initiatives.
Employment Impact
In the past ten months, over 3,000 individuals have secured employment in Yangihayot district, while 6,000 citizens have registered as self-employed.
President Mirziyoyev commended the achievements of local entrepreneurs, stating:
“The conditions created for entrepreneurs in recent years are yielding results. Our businesspeople produce diverse and high-quality products. We will expand these opportunities annually. After all, an entrepreneur is the foundation of the economy and the support of the state.”
The Yangihayot Industrial Technopark stands as a testament to Uzbekistan’s commitment to fostering industrial growth, creating employment, and driving sustainable development.
