Astana, The Gulf Observer: President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has expressed his gratitude to U.S. President Donald Trump for organizing the C5+1 Summit, describing it as the beginning of a new era of cooperation between Central Asia and the United States, Akorda press service reported.

President Tokayev emphasized President Trump’s significant role in global affairs, calling him a “distinguished statesman” whose “wise and bold leadership deserves strong support worldwide.” He stated that under President Trump’s leadership, the United States is entering a “new golden age.”

Highlighting the alignment of visions between the two leaders, Tokayev commended President Trump’s “Make America Great Again” initiative, noting that it serves as an inspiration for Kazakhstan’s national strategy to build a “Just and Strong Kazakhstan” founded on the principles of law and order.

The Kazakh President reaffirmed his country’s commitment to strengthening its strategic partnership with the United States. He noted that the U.S. remains Kazakhstan’s largest foreign investor, with cumulative investments exceeding 100 billion U.S. dollars. Bilateral trade has nearly doubled in recent years, reaching close to 5 billion U.S. dollars, while Kazakhstan continues to supply about 25 percent of America’s uranium demand. More than 600 American companies currently operate in Kazakhstan.

President Tokayev further announced that Kazakh and U.S. companies have signed new agreements worth over 17 billion U.S. dollars, underscoring the growing economic cooperation between the two nations. He emphasized that this partnership spans key sectors such as energy, critical minerals, industry, transport, finance, artificial intelligence, and education.

Inviting U.S. businesses to explore investment opportunities in Kazakhstan, Tokayev assured them of his personal support in implementing mutually beneficial projects.

As part of his official visit to Washington, D.C., President Tokayev held talks with President Donald Trump at the White House and participated in the C5+1 Summit. The two leaders also held a trilateral phone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Earlier in his visit, President Tokayev met with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and senior members of the Trump Administration. Kazakhstan and the United States signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of critical minerals, aimed at strengthening supply chain security and technological collaboration.

During his stay, the Kazakh leader also met with members of the U.S. House of Representatives — Jimmy Panetta, Carol Miller, Bill Huizenga, and Sydney Kamlager-Dove — as well as Senator Steve Daines of the Republican Party. Additionally, President Tokayev held discussions with Chevron Corporation Chairman and CEO Michael Wirth and Csaba Lejko, President of John Deere CIS and Central Asia, to further promote industrial and investment ties.
