President Tokayev Hails Astana as Symbol of Progress and Unity on Capital City Day

Astana, The Gulf Observer: President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev extended his heartfelt congratulations to the people of Kazakhstan on the occasion of Capital City Day, according to media reports. This year, the national celebration coincides with the National Dombra Day, adding cultural significance to the festivities.

In his congratulatory message, President Tokayev emphasized the symbolic convergence of these two important observances. “This ancient musical instrument is a vivid embodiment of the unique centuries-long cultural heritage of the Great Steppe,” the Head of State noted, referring to the dombra. “While Astana is a tangible manifestation of the dynamic, steady progress of Kazakhstan and our nation’s creative aspirations for the future.”

President Tokayev highlighted Astana’s vital role as the epicenter of Kazakhstan’s social, political, and economic life. “It is in this city where pivotal decisions are made, incredible ideas are born, and bold dreams come true. Here, knowledge and labor are celebrated, and national unity and harmony are strengthened,” he stated.

Describing the capital as “the pearl of Central Asia,” President Tokayev praised Astana’s growing stature on the international stage. “Astana has become a recognizable brand of modern Kazakhstan and gained international recognition as a platform for global dialogue and peacebuilding initiatives,” he said.

Reflecting on Astana’s transformative journey, President Tokayev acknowledged its central role in the nation’s history of dramatic changes and wide-ranging reforms. He expressed strong confidence in the city’s continued leadership in Kazakhstan’s development: “Astana will remain at the forefront of comprehensive changes as we build a Just, Clean, and Strong Kazakhstan.”

The Capital City Day is marked annually on July 6 to honor the achievements of Astana and its significance as a symbol of Kazakhstan’s national identity and future aspirations.
