President Tokayev Meets Tatarstan Rais Rustam Minnikhanov to Strengthen Kazakhstan–Russia Regional Cooperation

Astana, The Gulf Observer: President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, for a meeting focused on expanding bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and Tatarstan, according to the Akorda press service.
At the outset, President Tokayev congratulated Rustam Minnikhanov on his recent re-election as Rais of Tatarstan and expressed appreciation for his active role in promoting Kazakh–Russian relations and fostering mutually beneficial partnerships between the regions of Kazakhstan and Tatarstan.
“We are preparing for a state visit to Moscow on November 12. We believe this event will mark a milestone in our relations. Important documents will be signed, having a strong positive impact on the future course of cooperation,” President Tokayev stated.
He commended Minnikhanov’s efforts to strengthen economic collaboration, noting the Rais’s recent visits to the North Kazakhstan and Kostanay regions and his plans to establish new enterprises in Kazakhstan.
“We welcome all these plans and will always support Tatarstan’s initiatives in Kazakhstan,” Tokayev affirmed.
The Kazakh President emphasized the strong record of cooperation in engineering, component manufacturing, and petrochemicals, highlighting the need to give particular attention to joint investment projects with leading Tatarstan companies such as KAMAZ and Tatneft.
In response, Rustam Minnikhanov expressed gratitude to President Tokayev for the invitation to visit Kazakhstan and reaffirmed his commitment to advancing collaboration across business, industrial, educational, and cultural sectors.
The meeting underscored the shared commitment of Kazakhstan and Tatarstan to deepening interregional cooperation within the broader framework of Kazakh–Russian strategic partnership.
