President Tokayev Visits Modern Table Tennis Center in Taldykorgan

Taldykorgan, The Gulf Observer: President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited the newly constructed Table Tennis Center in Taldykorgan, a state-of-the-art facility developed through the Zhetysu-Koldau Public Fund, Akorda reports.

The center, built to international standards with modern equipment, serves as a hub for the Children’s and Youth Table Games Training and Sports Tourism School. Director Merei Suyunov highlighted the center’s comprehensive offerings, which include training programs for table tennis, togyzkumalak, checkers, chess, arm wrestling, and sports tourism. Currently, over 600 trainees are enrolled, including 33 candidate masters of sport and 41 first-category athletes.

During the visit, President Tokayev was briefed on efforts to enhance sports infrastructure in the region. Recent developments include the construction of physical culture facilities in Lepsy village, Alakol district, and Tekeli town, alongside sports complexes in Panfilov and Sarkandy districts. Additionally, Taldykorgan’s Central Stadium is undergoing major renovations to meet modern standards.

To promote sports accessibility in smaller communities, modular sports complexes are being constructed in rural areas.

President Tokayev emphasized the importance of expanding sports opportunities for young people and fostering a healthy, active lifestyle across the nation. These initiatives underscore Kazakhstan’s commitment to developing a robust and inclusive sports culture.
