Shehbaz Sharif, the consensus candidate of an alliance led by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, secured a resounding victory with 201 votes out of the total 293 votes cast during Sunday’s polling conducted by the National Assembly, the lower house of Pakistan’s parliament.
