President Xi meets with Chief Executive of Macao

Beijing, The Gulf Observer: President Xi Jinping on Friday met with Ho Iat Seng, chief executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR), who is on a duty visit to Beijing.
During the meeting, President Xi heard a report from Ho on Macao’s current situation and the Macao SAR government’s work.
Xi, during the meeting, said Ho has led the SAR government over the past year to carry out steady administration and hard work, which has maintained the stability of the overall social situation.
Xi said Ho and the SAR government studied and implemented the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, steadily advanced the revision of the Macao National Security Law, safely handled the revision of Macao’s gaming laws and a new round of bidding for gaming operation rights, and solidly promoted the construction of the Guangdong-Macao in-depth cooperation zone in Hengqin.
The central authorities fully acknowledges the work of Ho and the Macao SAR government, Xi said.
The central authorities will firmly implement the principle of “One Country, Two Systems” and fully support to give full play to its own advantages and characteristics, and strive to break new ground in the practice of “One Country, Two Systems” with Macao characteristics, aimed at making new and greater contribution to building a great modern socialist country in all respects, Xi said.
