President Xi Urges Jilin Province to Advance High-Quality Development and Contribute to Chinese Modernization

Changchun, The Gulf Observer: Chinese President Xi Jinping has called on Jilin Province to further implement the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee’s strategic directives aimed at revitalizing northeast China and to play an enhanced role in advancing Chinese modernization.
Xi, also General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, made these remarks during a meeting in Changchun, the capital city of Jilin, after receiving a work report from the Jilin Provincial Committee of the CPC and the provincial government.
Emphasizing the need for high-quality development, President Xi urged Jilin to make the real economy its cornerstone and focus on transforming traditional industries, strengthening competitive sectors, and cultivating new, high-quality productive forces. He also underscored the importance of translating technological breakthroughs into real productivity to ensure sustained economic growth.
President Xi pointed out that the comprehensive deepening of reform and opening-up is critical for the full revitalization of northeast China, stressing that related policies and regulations must be fully implemented in the reform of state-owned assets, enterprises, and the promotion of the private economy.
He further emphasized the creation of a first-rate business environment that is market-oriented, law-based, and internationalized, alongside building a higher-standard open economy. He also highlighted the importance of developing modern and large-scale agriculture in Jilin, while ensuring the coordinated advancement of technologies, green development, quality improvement, and the nurturing of well-known brands in the agricultural sector.
Xi noted that northeast China, which includes the provinces of Heilongjiang, Jilin, and Liaoning, has historically been a crucial industrial and agricultural base, particularly in the early days of the People’s Republic of China. The revitalization of the region remains a key strategy for the nation’s overall development.
As a multi-ethnic province, Jilin was urged to fully implement Party policies concerning ethnic groups and religious affairs, and to advance the building of a community for the Chinese nation, while promoting exchanges and interactions among different ethnic groups.
The President also called for effective measures to manage risks in key fields and ensure social stability. He emphasized that high-quality development should be supported by high-quality Party building, and urged continuous efforts to eliminate unnecessary formalities, as well as to address misconduct and corruption at the grassroots level.
Cai Qi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and director of the General Office of the CPC Central Committee, attended the meeting with President Xi.
