Prime Minister Chính Attends Groundbreaking of $300 Million Hanoi CMC Creative Space

Hanoi, The Gulf Observer: Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính on Sunday presided over the groundbreaking ceremony for the Hanoi CMC Creative Space (CCS Hanoi), a US$300 million technology complex regarded as a significant milestone in Vietnam’s journey toward innovation and digital transformation.

The ambitious project, developed by CMC Technology & Solution—a leading private enterprise in the country’s tech sector—is situated on an 11,000-square-metre site in the capital. The facility will comprise 23 storeys above ground and three basement levels, offering a total floor space of over 90,000 square metres.

Building upon the success of the first creative space, CCS Tân Thuận in Hồ Chí Minh City, this second development aims to serve as an open artificial intelligence hub, known as C.OpenAI. The complex is envisioned as a fully integrated technological ecosystem, featuring a state-of-the-art data centre, R&D laboratories, training institutes, and a start-up incubation zone. Upon completion, it is expected to provide employment for more than 5,000 engineers.

Central to the project is the CMC Data Centre, which will leverage cutting-edge technologies in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity, big data, and next-generation networking. The C.OpenAI platform will also incorporate 25 core technologies independently developed by CMC.

In his keynote address, Prime Minister Chính commended the project as a powerful testament to the vital role of the private sector in propelling the nation’s technological advancement. He noted that the initiative aligns with the Party and State’s strategic priorities of fostering breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation.

Highlighting the national target of achieving at least 8 per cent economic growth by 2025 and sustaining double-digit expansion in the years ahead, the Prime Minister called for greater national solidarity to secure prosperity and safeguard Vietnam’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

He encouraged CMC to take the lead in scientific and technological innovation, inspiring broader participation from the business community, educational institutions, and research bodies. He placed particular emphasis on mobilising the talents and creativity of the younger generation to contribute to Vietnam’s rapid and sustainable development.

The Prime Minister also expressed hope that CMC would evolve into a globally competitive multinational corporation, integrated into international value chains, while remaining committed to social responsibility and ensuring equitable access to technological advancements—especially for disadvantaged and remote communities.

Concluding his remarks, Prime Minister Chính reaffirmed the Government’s support for businesses like CMC and instructed relevant ministries, agencies, and Hanoi municipal authorities to proactively assist in resolving any impediments, ensuring favourable conditions for the success of such strategic projects.
