Prime Minister Chính Urges Red River Delta Region to Pursue Development Strategies
Hanoi, The Gulf Observer: In a recent address, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính has underscored the importance of proactive measures and strategic reforms for the advancement of the Red River Delta region. Emphasizing a vision stretching to 2050, the Prime Minister urged ministries, localities, and sectors to engage in rigorous research and propose innovative institutional and policy reforms aimed at overcoming obstacles and fostering sustainable development in the region.
Speaking at the third meeting of the Red River Delta Region Coordinating Council, Prime Minister Chính stressed the necessity of adopting fresh perspectives and cultivating a renewed vision to harmoniously integrate traditional values with progressive strategies. This approach, he emphasized, is pivotal for comprehensive planning that ensures sustainable practices and breakthrough innovations.
The meeting, which showcased plans for the 2021-2030 period and beyond, reviewed the implementation of key resolutions and policies aimed at regional development. Notably, the Government’s action programme delineates 21 development targets, 36 tasks, and 20 key projects to be achieved by 2030. Positive strides have been made, with significant progress noted in the completion of tasks and the approval of plans across provinces in the region.
Economic indicators reflect the region’s robust performance, with a growth rate surpassing the national average and accounting for a substantial portion of the national GDP. The region’s per capita GRDP and state budget revenue stand out as leading figures nationwide, indicative of its economic vitality.
While lauding achievements, Prime Minister Chính acknowledged persisting challenges, including urban infrastructure deficiencies and environmental issues. Stressing the importance of collaborative efforts and regional coordination, he urged stakeholders to redouble their focus on addressing these challenges.
In concluding remarks, Prime Minister Chính reiterated the imperative of aligning development initiatives with Party guidelines and state laws. He emphasized the need for meticulous planning and steadfast implementation while prioritizing human-centered development and leveraging the Vietnamese people’s intellect and talent.
Looking ahead, the Prime Minister endorsed strategic breakthroughs outlined in the 13th Party Congress, emphasizing infrastructure development, human resource training, and institutional improvement. He called for a concerted effort to restructure economic sectors, prioritize investment in pivotal projects, and streamline administrative procedures to bolster the investment environment.
