PM Chính expressed his belief that the visit would further strengthen the special friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Cuba, emphasizing the significance of their 65-year-long relationship. He highlighted Vietnam’s deep appreciation for the unwavering support provided by Cuba, particularly during Vietnam’s most challenging periods, led by Fidel Castro, the Cuban Party, State, and people. In the face of today’s complex international challenges, PM Chính reaffirmed Vietnam’s commitment to standing alongside Cuba, offering support and sharing experiences to overcome difficulties and promote mutual development.

The Vietnamese Prime Minister proposed increasing high-level exchanges and collaboration, particularly in light of the agreements made during Party General Secretary and State President Tô Lâm’s visit to Cuba in September 2024. He emphasized the importance of enhancing the Vietnam-Cuba Intergovernmental Committee’s effectiveness and prioritizing cooperation in key sectors such as food production, renewable energy, biotechnology, healthcare, and tourism. Furthermore, PM Chính suggested joint efforts to celebrate the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations in December 2025 and to continue mutual support in multilateral forums.

Minister Rodríguez Parrilla, in turn, expressed Cuba’s profound gratitude for Vietnam’s recent support, particularly in the fields of agriculture and food security. He affirmed Cuba’s determination to build on the foundations laid by the historic relationship between Vietnam’s President Hồ Chí Minh and Cuban leader Fidel Castro, consolidating the special cooperation between the two countries.

Congratulating Vietnam on its socio-economic achievements, Minister Rodríguez Parrilla expressed Cuba’s eagerness to learn from Vietnam’s experience in various sectors.

Both sides agreed to take concrete steps to enhance cooperation in economics, trade, investment, and other areas, aiming to match the political ties that have long united their nations. They are committed to advancing their collaboration for the mutual benefit of both countries and to contributing to peace, stability, and development regionally and globally.
