Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Accorded Guard of Honour in Malaysia Ahead of Bilateral Talks with Anwar Ibrahim

Kuala Lumpur, The Gulf Observer: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was accorded a guard of honour on Monday upon his arrival at the Perdana Putra Complex, the Office of the Malaysian Prime Minister, where he met his counterpart Anwar Ibrahim for official talks aimed at strengthening Pakistan–Malaysia bilateral cooperation.
The visit marks the beginning of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s three-day official trip to Malaysia, undertaken at the invitation of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. Upon his arrival at the venue of the official welcome ceremony, the Pakistani premier was warmly received by the Malaysian leader.
The ceremony commenced with the national anthems of both countries, as the two prime ministers stood on the salute dais. Prime Minister Shehbaz then inspected the guard of honour presented by contingents of the Malaysian armed forces, followed by the formal introduction of delegations from both sides.
Following the welcoming ceremony, the two leaders proceeded to hold a one-on-one meeting, followed by delegation-level talks to review the entire spectrum of Pakistan–Malaysia relations and explore new avenues of cooperation in various sectors.
The discussions are expected to focus on enhancing bilateral cooperation in trade, information technology and telecommunications, the Halal industry, investment, education, energy, infrastructure, and the digital economy, along with deepening people-to-people exchanges between the two nations.
Both leaders will also witness the signing of agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) covering collaboration across existing and emerging areas of mutual interest.
Prime Minister Shehbaz is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi.
Upon his arrival at Bunga Raya International Airport in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday night, the Pakistani prime minister was received by Malaysian Minister of Communications Fahmi Fadzil, Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Malaysia Syed Ahsan Raza Shah, and members of the Pakistani diplomatic mission.
The official visit underscores the shared commitment of Pakistan and Malaysia to further strengthen their strategic, economic, and cultural partnership through closer engagement and cooperation.
