Karaganda, The Gulf Observer: The scientific community mourns the loss of a distinguished figure as Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, Professor Temirgali Koketayev, of Buketov Karaganda State University, has passed away, NHC reports.

Professor Koketayev’s contributions to the field of physics and mathematics have left an indelible mark, not just in Kazakhstan but globally. His research and teachings have inspired generations of students and scientists, solidifying his legacy as a true pioneer in his field.

Governor of the Karaganda Region, Yermaganbet Bulekpayev, expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of the late professor. In a post on his official Instagram account, Governor Bulekpayev stated, “Temirgali Koketayev’s name became a symbol of high professionalism and devotion to science. He was not just a world-famous scientist, but also a person whose work and knowledge will always remain in the history of our country. My deepest condolences to the family and relatives. His memory will stay forever with us.”

Professor Koketayev’s illustrious career was marked by numerous accolades, reflecting his exceptional contributions to science. In 1999, he was honored by the International Biographical Center in Cambridge, UK, with the title “Outstanding Person of the XXI Century” and was awarded a silver medal. His remarkable achievements continued to be recognized when, in 2001, he was named International Scientist of the Year, earning a gold medal for his groundbreaking work. Further cementing his international reputation, Koketayev was later awarded the prestigious International Socrates Award. Notably, he became the first Kazakh to lecture at the University of Oxford, an achievement that underscored his status as a leading figure in global academia.
