Putin Extends Invitation to Azerbaijani President for CIS Heads of State Council Meeting
Moscow, The Gulf Observer: Russian President Vladimir Putin has formally invited Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to participate in the upcoming meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), scheduled to take place in Moscow. The announcement was made during a joint press statement following bilateral talks between the two leaders.
President Putin emphasized the strong cooperative relationship between Russia and Azerbaijan, noting their joint efforts on key multilateral platforms such as the United Nations and the CIS. “Russia and Azerbaijan closely coordinate their efforts on key multilateral platforms, including the UN and the Commonwealth of Independent States. In October, we will be pleased to welcome Ilham Heydarovich at the CIS Heads of State Council meeting in Moscow, as well as at the outreach meeting within the BRICS Summit in Kazan in October this year,” President Putin stated.
This upcoming CIS Heads of State Council meeting is expected to address various regional and international issues, reflecting the ongoing commitment of member states to collaborate on matters of mutual interest. President Aliyev’s participation underscores the importance of Azerbaijan’s role within the CIS and its strategic partnership with Russia.
The invitation also includes an invitation to the outreach meeting within the BRICS Summit, set to be held in Kazan later in October, further highlighting the expanding scope of diplomatic engagement between the two nations.
