President BRISD Qaiser Nawab Participates in Event Celebrating “The Glorious 11 Years – How Chinese Companies Reshaped the Power Sector in Pakistan” & Business Climate Index of Chinese Companies in Pakistan

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Qaiser Nawab, President of the Belt and Road Initiative for Sustainable Development (BRISD), participated in a prestigious event titled “The Glorious 11 Years – How Chinese Companies Reshaped the Power Sector in Pakistan” and Business Climate Index of Chinese Companies in Pakistan. The event, held on Sunday, was organized by the China Chamber of Commerce in Pakistan (CCCPK) to celebrate and launch reports documenting the achievements and contributions of Chinese companies in Pakistan’s power sector over the past eleven years.The Chief Guest at the event was Honorable Chairman of the Senate, Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani. Other notable Guests of Honour included Federal Minister of Information Atta Tarar, Minister of Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb, Senator Saleem Mandviwalla of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), and the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, H.E. Jiang Zaidong.The reports, “The Glorious 11 Years” and the Business Climate Index of Chinese Companies in Pakistan, highlight the transformational impact of Chinese companies in reshaping Pakistan’s energy sector, with notable projects including power generation and infrastructure development. The reports also examine the business environment for Chinese firms in Pakistan, emphasizing the importance of this bilateral partnership under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).Speaking during a networking session, Qaiser Nawab praised the vital role played by Chinese companies in promoting green development initiatives in Pakistan. He noted their contributions to sustainable development, addressing unemployment, and fostering economic growth through investments in the power and infrastructure sectors. He also highlighted the positive outcomes of these partnerships, including the creation of job opportunities and advancements in renewable energy.“The collaboration between Pakistan and China in the power sector is not just a reflection of strong bilateral ties but also a model for sustainable and green development. Chinese companies have shown leadership in fostering environmental resilience and economic growth in Pakistan,” said Nawab.Other key speakers at the event, including Vice General Manager of Three Gorges South Asia Investment Company in Pakistan Liu Yanggang, also commended the long-standing cooperation between the two countries. They emphasized how this partnership has successfully helped to modernize Pakistan’s power infrastructure, contributing to the nation’s economic stability.The event served as a platform to further strengthen the cooperation between Pakistan and China, particularly in advancing the shared goals of sustainable development and economic prosperity.
