Qatar Affirms Commitment to Negotiation Process for Gaza Crisis Resolution

Doha, The Gulf Observer: Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani reiterated Qatar’s unwavering dedication to seeking a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Gaza during a joint press conference with visiting Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Spain, HE Dr. Pedro Sanchez.

HE Sheikh Mohammed emphasized Qatar’s consistent efforts since the onset of the conflict in Gaza, emphasizing its role as a mediator rather than a party to the conflict. He highlighted Qatar’s relentless commitment to facilitating dialogue, building bridges, and presenting innovative solutions aimed at achieving a lasting peace agreement.

The Prime Minister addressed criticisms against Qatar, affirming that the responsibility for the negotiations lies solely with the conflicting parties, while Qatar acts as a mediator striving to maintain the negotiation process’s momentum and offer viable solutions.

Highlighting Qatar and Egypt’s pivotal role in securing the release of numerous hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners, HE Sheikh Mohammed stressed the importance of continued efforts to bridge the gap, end the conflict, and ensure the safe return of hostages through diplomatic negotiations.

Regarding Israel’s proposed military operation in Rafah, HE Sheikh Mohammed condemned such actions, stressing that no country besides Israel supports such an operation.
