Qatar and Azerbaijan Discuss Strengthening Climate Change Cooperation

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Anar Alakbarov, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and member of the Organising Committee of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, met with Bader bin Omar Al Dafa, Special Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Climate Change and Sustainability of Qatar.

During the meeting, the two officials discussed the strengthening of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Qatar, particularly in the areas of climate change and sustainability. The discussions also covered the ongoing preparations for the upcoming COP29, which is scheduled to take place in Baku, Azerbaijan, in November.

Both parties emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to address global climate challenges and enhance sustainable practices. The meeting highlighted the shared commitment of Azerbaijan and Qatar to advance environmental initiatives and foster international partnerships in tackling climate change.
