Qatar Press Center Gains Full Membership in General Union of Arab Journalists

Baghdad, The Gulf Observer: The General Union of Arab Journalists announced during its meeting yesterday in Baghdad that it has received a recommendation to accept the Qatar Press Center (QPC) as a full member of the Union. This significant development was confirmed in a statement released following the meeting, which was presided over by Muayyad Al-Lami, President of the Union of Arab Journalists and Head of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate.

During the meeting, Saad bin Mohammed Al Rumaihi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Press Center, provided an in-depth explanation of the center’s statute, its role, mission, and vision. He reviewed the various events, seminars, training courses, and activities organized by the center, emphasizing that the QPC is a private institution aimed at public benefit. Its mission aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030, focusing on the development of media and journalistic work and addressing the affairs of media professionals.

President Muayyad Al-Lami invited Al Rumaihi to visit Baghdad to meet with Union members and learn about their activities and initiatives. During his visit, Al Rumaihi engaged with numerous Arab media figures participating in the meeting, who praised the Qatari media’s longstanding support for Arab issues and the rights and freedoms of journalists worldwide.

Al Rumaihi expressed his gratitude to Muayyad Al-Lami, the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, and all members for their warm hospitality and excellent organization of the meeting.
