Qatar University and Peking University Explore Collaborative Opportunities in Higher Education and Health
Doha, The Gulf Observer: Dr. Omar Al Ansari, President of Qatar University (QU), welcomed Prof. Jie Qiao, Executive Vice-President of Peking University and President of Peking University Health Science Centre, in a meeting held yesterday. The discussion, attended by senior officials from QU Health and Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), aimed to explore opportunities for collaboration, including student and faculty exchange programs.
Accompanied by Dr. Ibrahim Al Kaabi, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Prof. Asma Al Thani, Vice President for Health and Medical Sciences, the meeting emphasized the significance of fostering cooperation in higher education and healthcare. The officials discussed potential joint initiatives that could enhance academic and research endeavors, creating a platform for knowledge exchange between the two prestigious institutions.
Following the meeting, the delegation embarked on a specialized tour of the Qatar University campus, gaining insights into QU’s health services and facilities. The delegation from Peking University included esteemed professionals in health and various fields, such as Prof. Qiudan Sun, Director of the Office of International Cooperation at Peking University Health Science Centre, Prof. Yong Jiang, Vice President of Peking University Dental Hospital, and Prof. Zhiming Fu, Deputy Dean of the School of Foreign Languages at Peking University.
