Doha, The Gulf Observer: The Shura Council of Qatar strongly condemned the recent massacre carried out by Israeli occupation forces against innocent civilians awaiting aid delivery in the Gaza Strip. In a session held yesterday, the Council expressed its deep concern over the tragic incident, denouncing it as a clear violation of international law and humanitarian principles.
The Shura Council emphasized that the Israeli actions are a stark continuation of a pattern that contradicts fundamental principles of international law and humanitarian norms. The Council called upon all relevant parties, parliaments, and parliamentary unions globally to take immediate and decisive actions to halt this brutal behavior. It urged the international community to compel Israel to adhere to established international norms and laws.
Reiterating Qatar’s unwavering stance on the Palestinian issue, the Council stressed the need for the Palestinian people to realize their legitimate rights, particularly the establishment of an independent state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Following the condemnation of the Israeli actions, Dr. Ahmed bin Nasser Al Fadala, Secretary-General of the Shura Council, presented the session’s agenda. The minutes of the previous session were duly approved.
During the deliberations, the Council scrutinized a draft law concerning the nationalization of jobs in the private sector, which had been referred by the government. The Council decided to delegate the draft law to the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee for a thorough examination, instructing the committee to present a comprehensive report.
In another development, the Council gave its approval for an extension of the working period for the Legal and Legislative Affairs Committee. The extension is granted to facilitate a detailed examination of a draft law pertaining to public and private state property. The Council remains committed to ensuring robust legislative oversight and adherence to legal procedures in matters of national significance.
