Romanian Ambassador Hands Over Historic Choral Version of Qaumi Tarana to Senate Chairman Gilani

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: H.E. Dan Stoenescu, Ambassador of Romania to Pakistan, presented the official album and written score of the first-ever professional choral arrangement of Pakistan’s national anthem, Qaumi Tarana, to Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani in a ceremony marking a significant milestone in cultural diplomacy between the two countries.
The unique artistic project was developed by the National Chamber Choir Madrigal – Marin Constantin with the support of the Embassy of Romania in Islamabad. The arrangement reimagines the original orchestral composition into a refined polyphonic choral work for soprano, alto, tenor, and bass, preserving the anthem’s solemnity while introducing a new musical dimension that blends Eastern melodic richness with Western harmonic depth.
The album and musical score were described as a symbol of deep respect for Pakistan’s national identity and a testament to the shared commitment of both nations to fostering cultural dialogue through universal artistic expression.
During the meeting, Ambassador Stoenescu and Chairman Gilani also held discussions on strengthening bilateral relations, with particular emphasis on enhancing parliamentary cooperation and expanding economic ties between the two countries.
The two sides further exchanged views on regional developments, including the evolving situation in the Middle East, underscoring the importance of dialogue, peace, and stability.
Ambassador Stoenescu expressed appreciation for the warm reception extended by Chairman Gilani, noting that the initiative highlights the enduring friendship between Romania and Pakistan and demonstrates the powerful role of culture in bringing nations closer together.
