Sagyn Omirbaiuly Secures Second Place at Children’s Song Contest at Slavianski Bazaar
Vitebsk, The Gulf Observer: The 33rd edition of the International Festival of Arts Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk commenced in Belarus last Thursday, as reported by media. Inaugurating the festival, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko highlighted its significance in uniting like-minded individuals from over 40 countries, spanning from Russia to India and from China to Colombia.
In his welcome address, President Lukashenko emphasized, “This festival gathers people from different generations, religions, and cultures – true art lovers with diverse tastes, from avant-garde to classics. Most importantly, it has truly become a family holiday, a celebration of traditional values.”
The festival’s opening ceremony also saw the announcement of the winner of the 33rd children’s song contest in Vitebsk. Yasmina Khusniddinova from Uzbekistan clinched the top spot with a score of 139 points. Kazakhstan’s Sagyn Omirbaiuly secured the runner-up position, trailing by just one point, with his rendition of the Kazakh folk song “Eki zhiren.” Fourteen young contestants from over ten countries participated in this year’s competition.
For the first time, the South African Republic joined the festival, adding to its international flavor.
Running from July 5 to July 14, the International Festival of Arts Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk promises a series of major events, including exhibitions, plays, solo concerts by renowned performers, march-parades, and more. On July 12, declared the Day of National Cultures of the SCO states, a roundtable discussion on “Dialogue of Cultures – the Factor of Unity of the Peoples of the SCO Nations” will be held.
This Saturday, the 33rd International Song Contest at Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk will take place at the Summer Amphitheatre. Kazakhstan will be represented by Yernazar Zhuban, singer of the variety and symphony orchestra of Almaty’s mayor and winner of the Zhas Kanat contest.
The festival continues to be a beacon of cultural exchange and unity, celebrating the rich tapestry of global arts.
